Hello,
I have some problems with reading fault codes and also clearing them. There is no such thread in the Nanocom forum so I start here. First, when trying to read all permanent fault codes I get an error message saying there are to many faults and that I should read the manual what to do. I can´t find this in the manual but I have tried to reduce the no of ECU:s and by doing so I can get the fault codes for all ECU:s. The problem is that there are some faults but not many and it shouldn´t be a problem checking all ECU:s at once. Following the progress on the Nanocom display the problem seem to occur during the reading of the BCU fault codes. I also get an error message when I try to clear the BCU fault code (it is only one) which can´t be done. My unit has the latest update (if you didn´t do one in the last hour...). Is this a bug or a problem with my particular car?
Thanks,
Peter

HI Peter,
If a certain ECU has over 50 faults logged the nanocom will return that message.
We don't want to impose on the kindness of the Disco3 guys and resort to using this forum for all manner of support so I would kindly suggest you create a new thread on the Nanocom forums. This will also benefit all other owners who might come across the same issue.
Thanks
chris

Hello,
I didn´t really mean thread... There is no obvious (at least not to me...) area for creating threads about problems with fault code readings on the nanocom forum. English is not my first language so sometimes it comes out a bit wrong... Sorry for that.

Chris, the problem is that when reading subsets of ECU:s fault codes there were not that many totally that would cause this error message when reading them all at once.
I must admit I am not really sure about the difference between permanent, tested and not tested fault codes... Someone care to explain?
I am more than happy to ask my questions in the Nanocom forum but I miss some board categories and I assume I am not allowed to create those myself. Do we keep all the CAN-bus vehicle questions separate from the rest or do we use the old existing categories?

Hi Peter,
Just post under general software and if needed Ronnie will move the post and create the appropriate section.
Thanks

I can't explain why your unit was not being recognized when you put it into kernal upgrade mode using the button on the usual 4 button start screen that is invoked when connected and powered via USB, clearly the screen was turning off when you selected the button on the touch screen, showing that the unit was entering the mode.
I've found during the latest upgrade to v2.14, that irrespective of whether the Nanocom is recognised, just select UPGRADE and it progresses very nicely thank you
