Can I just verify I need a NCOM40?
Also can you verify that I can immediately replace my BAS Remap with this and use the supplied file from Pete without upsetting anyone (and also sell on my blank unit to a happy new owner who crosses Pete's palm with silver and gold)?

No you cant I asked this of Pete, different file formats, new remap files needed, these will be available late off BBS, but cost wise its not worth swapping

I am not really in a hurry and I am sure the BBS crew are struggling to deliver as soon as possible. It is just that I need my precious..!

so what's the shipping schedule look like as far as getting these new orders (mine in particular Whistle ) out the door and to their new owners? This week, next week? Any idea?
Thanks for asking
I am actually currently in a very awkward position in this aspect and i think it only fair to explain the current state of play to you all.
I agreed to put these on the web shop(s) on Sunday Dec 1st based upon a genuine belief and all indications showing that the software would finally be at a releasable state by Monday the 2nd or at a worst case by the following day of Tuesday the 3rd.
However, sods law has played a really huge and most unfortunate role in providing us with an almost seemingly endless stream of last minute problems that have kept us constantly struggling and thinking we are just one final step and but an hour or two away from finally reaching our goal of having a releasable vesion of the software, even for Beta testers that already have the hardware.

Nothing could possibly be truer than this.
I am not beyond ranting, strip tearing, job threatening and even having really deeply moody sessions with my staff / crew, and right now everyone is wondering how come i am remaining so calm about these additional delays.
However the reality is that right now not one single member of my staff is doing anything less than their absolute and utter best, both individually and as a team and all are fully and absolutely understanding and appreciating how really important this is for BBS, themselves and most importantly the customers.
In fact it is almost nice to see them step it up to the max and sets a precident they will now be expected to follow, or else

This week, next week?
Our current technical software problems are honestly only on an Hour by Hour basis that can and indeed have already added up to Days, but absolutely not weeks.

Hi Colin
Thanks for your honesty. In fact, its good to see a company willing to communicate a bit of bad news rather than deliver a product they know is not ready for market!!
Personally, I don't have any issue with waiting a tad longer. I know its going to be worth the wait.
Please keep us updated on progress though.

I'm sure we've all run into those "this will just take five minutes..." type scenarios which leave you still awake at 3am and wondering why you didn’t leave well alone
After years in IT, my sage advice (yes after have you tried turning it off and back on again) is, stay calm and say nice things to The Machine
I'm sure it will be worth any slight delay...

Hi Colin,
have sent you a PM, but guess your under the hatchet having just read your last entry, would it be best to wait a few days before putting an order in, so you can clear the back-log when software is ready ?
Good luck Graham Graham

Graham.
It is up to you when you want to order one.
My admin staff will send out absolutley everything to everyone who is only but now waiting very patiently, for which we appreciate, at the very first possible opportunity. Thereafter will be able to supply these on the same day payment is received prior to about 3.00 pm our time until we close for our Christmas break.
Hiya Paul and many thanks for your understanding and appreciation.
I think and hope many will also appreciate that we really are doing the best we possibly can in respect of this and it is only right and honest to keep everyone updated on progress on a regular basis
As such for everyone also waiting like kids for their new toy, and following our progress with baited breath.
Today was actually a really good day.
We sorted out all the bugs, including the newest ones we have discovered or created on every diagnostic function except the EAS and now have the main Vehicle detect function fully debugged and working like a charm on all models, the fault codes, CCF flashing, ECU flashing on almost all ECU's, Service resetting and all EPB functions are all also now working as smooth as silk.
We are going to be supplying this in it's current to our beta testers, but we have done so much testing and debugging on these we really do not expect there will now be any problems with it.
But never say never
Frankly the EAS functionality, having been left till last, seems to be a bit of a mess right now, and accepting the reality that we have hit every possible problem and have not had even one lucky break, i am sure it is going to take an entire day to bring up to the requisite standard.
Sadly, as we now have only one day left before the end of this working week, and although we will indeed work saturday if required, this would still mean that the first day we could ship the systems would be Monday next week.
In the grand scheme of things, this is still not the end of the worldm but we all really do feel pretty bad about this and fully understand how many are wanting this ASAP.
So i have a small time saving proposition to put forward for anyone interested.
In reality, as with any such item as this, anyone who gets one of these is ultimately going to need to upgrade it themselves at some point in the future for any bug fixes and to add the additional functionality we will be adding on a pretty regular basis.
We have made this a super easy process, as it is something that all Nanocom Owners have done for years on a regular basis, and to demonstrate how really easy it is to do, i have had a Demo video made and posted on You Tube you can watch via this link.
On the understanding and acceptance that upon arrival the very first thing you would have to do to get any degree of CAN BUS coverage at all would be to self upgrade your units software which should easily be avaliable by the time you have the hardware delivered, i am willing to start shipping the hardware to anyone who agrees tomorrow (Friday)
For anyone interested, simply drop an e-mail to admin@blackbox-solutions.com indicating your agreement and asking for shipping on Friday.

Hi Colin
Thanks for the video link, looks pretty straight forward for Windows users, but what about those of us who use Macs, how do we upgrade the firmware?
