will it work with my Mac laptop,

Up till now all the evo firmware versions have needed a PC to load them (the Kernel Manager is a .exe file).
You may get away with running Windows through Parallels or similar on the Mac though.

ajps72:
Thank you for your kind comment of appreciation in respect of what a great and well proven bit of equipment the Nanocom Evolution really is.

As you can see from the demo videos alone, we have quite obviously been working really hard for quite some time now to specifically ensure that it will work even better, do everything anyone would really need and be especially easy to use on all CAN BUS vehicles.

It was actually not that easy, but we have indeed managed to make Can Bus coverage just a part of the next software upgrade for existing Nanocom Evolutions that we freely provide on a regular basis.

So you will indeed only need to purchase the new CAN BUS lead and the Licence / unlock Code for your D3. if purchased during the introductary offer period, these will cost about £208 plus P&P etc and VAT @18% as previously mentioned.

Alan B:
I have some rather good news for you.
While i had my suspicions, I was not quite sure before, and as it was the weekend was unable to check until today.

But the new CAN BUS lead was also designed with the additional wiring and connectivity required by the the Discovery II.

So you will not need to purchase an additional lead and can use the same one for your Disco 3 on your Disco 2 Thumbs Up

This means that you would only need to add the additional licences / unlock codes which as we also including these in the Dec offer will only cost £68 more.
That gives you a start price of £347 and an end price with lowest cost options of about £434

Of course you could add the D2 licences later if you wish without the discount which would then cost about £85

Either way, i think you will agree that this is really not a lot of money to completely cover your D2.

BTW, the bank transfer would be to a UK bank if that helps Thumbs Up

Ambo
As i have already stated and Fifth Horseman has confirmed.
The updating software does currently require a PC with Windows, although we have heard that some do this using a windows emulation on a MAC.

However we do have it scheduled for looking into producing a version of the updating software that is MAC native in the very early part of next year Thumbs Up

johnlr2:
A very interesting question.
For sure we will absolutely not be extending the introductary discount offer period under any circumstances.

However, i respect and appreciate that it does seem unfair that owners of such other CAN BUS vehicle models should loose out on this introductary discount offer simply because we do not currently have the time to test / debug the software on their particular model.

Leave this with me and i will try to figure out a fair and workable solution Thumbs Up

Good on you eljot Bow down
Although i have pushed this development very hard to be introduced in time for Christmas and have provided a really good introductary / Christmas discount that will make this a really good present for many.

I am the very last person that would want anyone to invest in one of these at the expense of dissapointing any kids and wifes as nothing is more important in my book.

Last year, my wife did not express any of the normal or usual form of thanks or appreciation for what gifts i had bought her as one might expect. She was actually almost inconsolably crying and her only words she managed to utter were that she felt she did not expect or deserve this.

Job Done Thumbs Up

Hiya beanie.

Thanks for asking.

There is nothing like a deadline to produce a flurry of last minute activity with my tech staff and with just a few short days to go, it is really pretty manic here at BBS HQ right now which is nice to see Rolling with laughter

We are apparently pretty well on schedule and in reality it is so simple and easy to update these Nanocom Evolutions that we will very quickly be able to release software updates that sort any problems out and adds even more capability.

Yea beanie, sorry i have not got round to replying to your PM yet, but as you can hopefully appreciate i am currently being in undated with PM's and all sorts of questions.

Sadly the time scales are now so short, that they really give little to no benefit to even appointed Beta testers beyond a few days and other more private benefits Whistle

None the less, they will certainly have a role well beyond Dec the first as that is just the beginning for CAN BUS coverage on this particular product

Even the first arrivals of the Nanocom hardware to those who have only ever been familiar with the Faultmate equipment is already raising a few eyebrows and quite some comment.

I will leave them to comment about this.

People who once thought they knew everything about me, BBS and our products are only now discovering the existance of our other world.

This development brings the two together and ultimately will benefit all old and new Land Rover owners.

Merry Christmas to all Land Rover owners Thumbs Up

Perhaps an idea to release one to an appropriate forum member for a full review ahead of the Christmas rush.

Didn't think I was volunteering and as my reviews can be on the brutal side of honest I think I would be the last person in the world Colin would want or need!
