Thanks to Gary @ Gazelliot for the PM. It would appear that the price needs some adjustment. The info from Gary is as follows:
CAP VALUES
Message:
Land Rover Discovery (04 on)
3.0 SDV6 (255bhp) HSE 5d Auto
2012/61
8000mls
Original Price £51,220
Franchised Dealer £48,930
Independent Dealer £47,610
Private Good £46,735
Private Poor £41,455
Part Exchange £43,220
So on that basis and the fact that the car IS immaculate but also taking in to account the 2 owners (From the same family but 2 owners nonetheless) Price is revised to
£46000 My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription
MY15 Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian

Don't forget the £7k of extras does make the car a lot better and more saleable than other models with the same/similar value

how many people will risk £46k on a private sale without the comfort of a come back to a dealer if theres an issue ?
not many i would guess if i was a buyer i would want some serious risk money off the sale value .
i think anything over £25k is going thro a dealer 90% of the time but thats not to say yours isnt a good price , just my opinion on your best route to market one for gaz or similar i would think MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

Mark I appreciate your comments although they're not particularly helping the sale if i'm honest Not sure that your argument holds water though. It has the balance of the three year LR warranty and LR Assist. It has ONLY done 8000 miles What's the risk? There are plenty of people out there who can afford it and would find the prospect of a top spec, fully loaded D4 at £12k off list ( With the options) an attractive proposition tbh. Not having a pop but a PM might have been a better way to make your point? No offence intended or taken though

If the car is anything like Steve's current car then condition wise it will be perfect.
Met Steve on Saturday when I collected the Mini and his cars all look immaculate.
If I had the money to purchase I would not hesitate.
Good luck with the sale.

Fair point and feathers not too ruffled! I guess we were looking at a car with more miles and much less spec on a dealer forecourt at £49k. Agreed there is a dealer "premium" but I think that the benefits of buying a car this age from a dealer are somewhat diluted. If the car has a long manufacturers warranty and breakdown cover (LR Assist) why pay £3k more for a higher mileage, lower spec car if all that back up is already in place. let's face it, there's no guarantee that you'll get a good service from a dealer in the event of a problem. We have all heard stories to this effect. Given the choice - I could see a lot people saving the £3k for insurance, toys and a holiday!
...bet then, I might be biased

Hi Steve, try wewillbuyyourcar.com (not webuyanycar). I put my Disco into both the other day and there was a massive difference (£9k)!!!!!
I also am thinking of changing again!
There is also the financing side of things - they say about 80% of people finance a dealer bought car in some form or another - so you could offer people a monthly payment option

I think so long as you are asking for less than forecourt money you'll eventually find a buyer.
I would say that there are few people who would spend that much money outside of a dealer network. Personally I don't mind at all, so long as the car is straight and (crucially) I buy at a decent discount. One of the tricks to not losing money on cars is to buy and sell right. If I was in the market for a new one I would buy yours.
The car I bought before the Disco was a Lexus RX300. I bought at 2.5 years old, 11k miles, for £20k. The car apparently sold for £44k new. At 2.5 years old it was still within warranty just in case anything went pop.
At the time I bought the car the private seller was asking forecourt money (£25k). I printed out the Autotrader ad, sat on it for 1 month then did a deal a month after he originally put it up for sale at trade-in money (well, possibly a bit more than trade-in, otherwise he would have simply traded it in). I suspect that he'd been offered £18-20k for it. His story was that he was downgrading from a £25k motor to 2x £10k motors.
My father was amazed that I'd spent (risked in his words) more than £10k on a a car bought privately. He reckons that I was in the 1% of the population that would do that..!
Someone will buy it and they'll be pleased with the purchase, especially 3 years down the line when they'll have lost less money then if they had driven it off the forecourt. Previous cars

Hi Mark, great tip!
wewillbuyyourcar have offered £45658 for it straightaway! So if anyone on here wants it for £45500 then let me know but be quick. Obviously a site donation will be made if it's sold here ( and tbh even if it goes to the website!)
WD you do make a fair point although there are some that will inevitably not be able to recognise a good deal for what it is regardless of a surfeit of evidence proving it to be the case
