Jump Start Pack, which one?

I have a few cars, inc. D3, and recently the DISCO wouldn't start and needed 'jumping'. The other cars wouldn't provide enough power and LR Assistance chap came around and jumped it off a 'pack'. I've decided to invest in my own.

What would others recommend? Make and size? I'm assuming I need one with at least an 800A capability.

Another vote for the Jumpstart 4000, the only point against it is no 24V capability, but most people won't need that.

The usual problem is not the capability of the pack though, but the quality of the connection you get to the vehicle.

In my workshop I have (well had, until recently) a big old battery sat on a little cart, with an Anderson connector on it. I can connect a set of jump leads to the anderson, or plug directly in to the Anderson socket on my Defender.
When not in use, the trickle charger keeps it ready.

Donated the battery for a friends boat, but will rebuild the rig round a tired Optima when I get time.

Even if you had to buy a new battery you can build it for less than the cost of the 4000, and get better cranking power, at the expense of convenience/portability.

Reminds me, I did intend to put an Anderson connector on the 4000 too Embarassed

Dave
