My D3 TDV6 is sick - no diagnosis yet

Hello from balmy Cape Town

I booked my D3 TDV6 in for its service yesterday (118k) - very straight forward, but asked my indy to investigate what I thought was transmission vibration / droning and general laziness...

he called back within an hour of me dropping the car off to say that it was driving like an absolute pig... and that it had absolutely no oomph?? and was generally running really cr@p.

He asked to keep it for 2 days to investigate further - just been to collect it and he doesn't know whats causing the problem... The engines not throwing any fault codes. In fact there are no fault codes present at all.

we went for a drive in another D3 TDV6 - jeeeeeeez, what a difference. beautiful and smooth with loads of oooomph compared to mine - AND, just to add insult to injury, its got over 200k on the clock... you just have to touch the throttle and it flies. with mine, you really have to give it loads of throttle to get any "performance" out of it. As a matter of interest, fuel consumption is hanging round the 13.7l / 100km's...

Its going back on Tuesday so that he can investigate further - if anybody has any ideas, opinions or suggestions, please feel free to comment

Would these issues not throw out a fault code?

Could this be the infamous split top intercooler hose?

Is it smoking? Have you checked if the intercooler hose is split?

Where about in Cape Town are you? I'm originally from Milnerton.

Cheers

no smoking - no fault codes - just really "rough"...

I'll let the guys have one more look next week - I really hope it's nothing too sinister!
