Timing Chain Replacement ? |
|
Hello , I have a 2005 4.4L with 103,000 miles . I contacted land rover in seattle Wa . I asked if my timing chain needs replacement after so many miles . I was told no that they do not need replacement only if problems occur . Truck is running like new. Is he right ? I have noticed while driving at 20-40 MPH that when my foot is just keeping the speed steady and the RPMs around 2,500 to 3,000 the car seems to rev up and down . The car isn't jerking back and forth . You can hear the engine making the noise just barely and the slightest pulling of the revs . Mostly you can feel it when coasting down a hill ?

Chains do not normally need replacing as a service item. Something you might do if something else has gone wrong and you might consider replacing it while the engine has been puled down.
