front tow hook
I read somewhere on this forum that the front towing hook is only for towing on the street and that recovery by using this hook could lead to serious damage.
Having recovered the car last weekend with the front hook, I immediately checked and it seems to be OK. Only the thin plastic strip right under the hook connecting left to right is broken.
For the future; what is allowed for this hook? Anybody knows details or has experience?

Have heard that you can hang a D3 by it's front hook, with another D3 hanging from the back - they are STRONGD3 TDV8 HSE on order, Should Arrive 2017. If i'm lucky.

after my improvised recovery (quite risky - the car sliding towards a tree with only 10cm away from 1000€ damage), I ordered immediately some decent ropes and started to interst myself in recovery techniques....
Living in a country wtithout LR experience and DIY-people I have no possibility whatsoever to get some course.
Does anybody knows some links on the net about recovery techniques?

if you can get hold of a copy of LROi magazine, the june 2006 issue had an interesting feature - Off-Road techniques: 10 ways to recover a Land Rover p.68 (7pgs)
included using duct tape... not very practical, but it worked!D3 TDV8 HSE on order, Should Arrive 2017. If i'm lucky.
