England

I had a similar problem for a long time - all sorts was changed in the quest to find the problem, which turned out to be HP pump. Fortunately, all covered under warranty as EGR's changed, HP Pressure regulator changed, MAP Sensor changed - before the HP pump was finally changed.

Basically, mine would get to ~2000rpm and ESF and loose all power - was worse with the Remap on and worse still towing the caravan. From looking at the delivery curve of the pump, it is just about getting to full song at around 2000rpm (Engine speed).

so did it do it every time it went above 2000rpm? even at low speed on kick down?

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Poped the bonnet today to check it over see if itwas anything obvious.

Started it up and gave it some revs could clearly hear a whistle/blowing noise split turbo hose, right at the top of the bend.

3 cable ties and some duck tape later and no more issues.

Will have to get an new hose but this will do for now.

Best possable outcome.

How easy is the turbo hose to change, easy to get to? did one on my old a4 was quite easy.

Thanks for all the help

Easy peasy. Top connection is just undo the circlip nut and remove. The bottom connection is via a panel behind the front offside wheel. You don't need to remove the wheel. 15mins tops. Thumbs Up

It's a piece of miss to replace. Consider a silicone one though, so it doesn't happen again Thumbs Up

Not everytime initially, but later became that I could do it on demand - the last straw was toning the van from the midlands to a friends near Norfolk and it ESF'd about 10 times before I gave up and drove the rest of the way and all the way back in command shift with the revs above 2500rpm. Cost a fortune in fuel, but didn't actually fail me Thumbs Up

And it would only fault with a load on - so it would get over 2k if careful.

But glad you found your cause Thumbs Up
