REAR AXLE DRIVE, PROPSHAFT

How mutch play should it be on this axle while the vehilce is in Park, No handbreak. on a flat surface?

I was under the vehicle on a service, could turn the axle a bit.

When I let the vehicle roll down a slope/hill in D with no power applied, I then apply some power, it takes 1/2 sec before i feel the gearbox engages, engine revs up. After that 1/2 sec or so i can hear a "engaging" sound. like the clutch is too fast engaging.A little soft bang type. So Im going realy easy on the throttle.

Im not sure who to describe this more correctly..

I have a feeling that this is not good..

Any Ideas guys?

Per.

Thats why in England we have amber lights between red and green so landrover owners can take up transmision slack.

The movement you say sounds like every car i have owned....nothng unusual. Unless you are off and on the power you may not notice
It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.
