I thought it would be a matter of just a few bolts underneath like the Disco 2 ........ hmmmm not quite!
After some time scratching my head and studying the "pictorial" instructions (why don't they write instructions in English anymore?) I made a start...... 3 hours later I was ready to top myself ..........
Bought the special tool for removing trim and then bought a keyhole saw to cut out bits of the plastic sill, then bought 13mm drill bit which was too big to fit in my drill so borrowed a drill, then lost a couple of the white plastic clips, then the rear bracket would not fit - only a mm out but enough to stop the bolt matching up with its thread, then got it on to find that the step bolts would not mate up with the bracket holes so loosened everything off and got it to fit to discover that it has to be taken off again to fit the plastic sill........ drilled holes in sill to accommodate the fixing bolts and fiddled about with the sill until it snapped into place then remembered that three of the fixing bolts go on the outside of the sill so took it all off again and re- fitted.... it was now dark and I was contemplating suicide. Wife brings me a cuppa and asks why I had only put one side on..... wife is going on Ebay tonight!
Finally get it all back together with wife breathing down my neck wanting to go to Tesco as I survey the scene of destruction with tools abandoned everywhere, cardboard packaging and a lop sided Disco with one side step.... then... car radio starts hissing like someone has just cut the aerial wire - turn off turn on - no change - ignition off ignition on - no change - do it again (ever hopeful) - and yippee radio works again...then...
Warranty Direct ring and start listing (again) all the things that they cover, offer interest free payments each quarter, a discount, upgrade to a better level of cover, emissions and airbag cover and a partridge in a pear tree. I am losing the will to live so I give in and dig out the credit card.. another £900 (2 years worth).......
......... oh well, do the other side to do tomorrow and then I can start worrying about the 105K service problem. Damn car has only done 34K but apparently the "belts" service has to be done after 7 years anyway and my warranty will be void unless it is done . I really do need to start thinking things through! (all the gear and no idea!)
God I hope this car is worth it!
You have to laugh....

Many miles under the belt?!
RE srevicing, if you don't opt for Flack (who is close to you) then Stratstones seem to be doing a good deal on the 105k service - £599 inc belts, or £399 for just the belts (both inc VAT)
These prices are less than I was recently charged by lloyds Landrover for the relatively minor 75k service Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE
Previously:
TD5 Defender 110 CSW (230k miles)
300TDi Disco 1 (289k)
4 RR Classics (300-350k each, 2 manual, 2 auto)
110 V8 CSW (220k)
S3 109 hi cap pickup (ex RN)
S2A 88 Safari SW with lpg conversion (bloody lethal)

Thanks for posting this - I've got a set in the garage to fit to SWMBO's D3 as soon as I get the time and weather. It's a bit more complicated as it currently has side bars fitted that I'll have to remove first. Should be fun...
Thanks,
Gareth.

Should make your life a hell of a lot easier. The brackets from what I have seen all fit the same places/holes in the car.
So you would just have to unbolt the old side bar ones fit the new ones to the already cut trims and Bobs your dads brother 8)
Although I could be wrong... EGR Valves Blanked, Bluefin Mapping, Back Windows Tinted, Side Step Fitted, Alarm modded, BT upgraded, New battery fitted, Light protectors fitted, Wind Deflectors fitted, Door sill protectors, bonnet catch switch, performance air filter, Ladder to nowhere, BT module upgrade
Upgraded to MY10 D4 HSE Stornaway Grey
Uncle Rays Wheel protector fitted,
IID tool (to be changed)

Pretty sure that will be the case, otherwise should be plain sailing (famous last words!)
