well - the other side is now done and it was MUCH easier the second time - experience (and the youtube video) is a wonderful thing........ and the dremmel tool cut out the slots nicely (thanks for the tip). The problem was the rear bracket which was worse this time and I had to do a fair bit of fiddling to get the bolts to line up. All done now and that's the end of my engineering career for this year!

I assume they are sliders - I'll get a proper photo of them on the car and off once removed (as soon as SWMBO stops hogging the D3 and I can get my greasy mits on it!)
No doubt, I'll soon stick a pretty reasonable for sale notice up soon after that
