Testing Equipment for a Disco 3 2009

Hi Guys,

I'm new here as user, buy I have been reading many posts since I started looking for a Discovery 3. I live in Patagonia , Chile , very far away, 2500 kmts from the unique LR Stealer in Chile. ( Chile is not on the list of countries so I choose Argentina on my profile ) I own a tourism company and we have some Defenders 110 to take people on trips and also as support vehicle for our motorcycle trips.

Recently I have jumped into a new dimensión for me and I got my first Disco 3 TDV6 HSE MY2009. ( Rich clients dont like the confort of the Defenders Laughing . )

I understood quickly that I need a "machine" to be able to speak with the car and I need your advice on this hard and "expensive" desition.

I want to do as much as possible, read fault codes and clear them but also configurate everything, actívate extra keys, actívate replaced devices, calibrate suspension, upload new firmware , re-program the ECU, etc, etc..

Also, leaving here I have no option to send the unit back to England for upgrades, so I should be able to do any upgrade or re programing via internet.

It looks like the FaultMAte MSV-2 is my choice, but I would like to have an opinión from the experts !!!

One of the reasons because I decided to buy the Disco 3 despite all the negative comments about faults and problems on these "commputerized beasts" , it was the existence of this fórum. I hope with the right tools and good information I will be able to solve most issues with the car myself.

Also, I would like to know if it's posible to get a better price for members here than online...

Thanks,

Aníbal Vickacka

Your options are the Faultmate MSV, Nanocom, or IID tool

All of these have been covered in depth on the forum. I suggest you grab a cup of coffee (or 12) and prepare yourself for a long read. Only you can make your mind up Laughing Thumbs Up
