RearView Cam & 4x4 Info
Hello all,
I just got my new LR4 HSE but I didn't find the camera menu/icon on the home screen and also the 4x4 info screen. The manual of the car is useless, aren't these standard on HSE model?
Appreciate your help.

Also the cameras aren't standard on a UK spec D4 you have to pay extra for them so they may not be standard on whatever spec yours is.Cheers Ian

Yes you are all right, not a standard. I went to the LR dealer here and they confirmed this. The car manual needs some review as it does not give the reader any hint about that.
Thanks all.

the reversing camera is standard on a uk HSE - its the surround cameras that are optional
4x4 info is on the extra options menu as said Duncan

Reversing Cameras
Hi My Disco 4 XS hasn't got a reversing camera. Is it possible to fit & connect one to work on the existing screen?

yes ..but you would need to get it enabled for it to work .Dealer cant do it ..but someone with a faultmate can.
Wiring wont be there as standard either ..so you would need to run a coax from camera to screenG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi Wiggy,
So the screen will work with a camera then and all that is needed is to run this coax (normal TV coax & connectors?) and get someone with the fault mate. Pardon my ignorance but what is fault mate and what kind of estabishment would have one & an expert to operate it.

not household coax ..something like RG174 ...and a SMB connector ( or fakra ) for the screen .
Faultmate is a diagnostic set up that can read codes and adjust settings that even LR cant do .
there is a few on here that have them ..including myself . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi Wiggs,
Sorry I called you Wiggy! I presume maplin would know this cable & connectors. Anyone nearer Shropshire than yourself (Manchester). Next question is how to get to the back of the screen? I presume the camera would not need power, or perhaps power should be taken from the reverse lights circuit?
