LCD DVD players in headrests

Thinking of getting some in-car entertainment for the little one, so have been looking at the different solutions.

I like the roof mounted type, but prefer to have 2 either side as to not block the rear view, but then getting expensive, and also not too sure on this with having the rear a/c.

Next was monitors attached to the headrests, but then have to keep taking them on/off as don't really want to leave them in the car all the time on show.

So then thought about ones fitted into the headrests, and came across these and wondered how hard it would be to fit these into the headrests already in the car, and wondered if anyone has already done this, as this would only need power, with having DVD built in.

Cheers

Looks like it comes already in the headrest - not sure the new headrest would fit between the grab handles? Looks neat though!

was thinking of taking them out of the headrests supplied, and then re-fitting them into the existing LR headrests Wink

I was looking into a similar option but I think you will find the LR standard headrest is not wide enough for a 7" screen.

Good point - just assumed they would fit Rolling Eyes

I have e-mailed the seller for the exact size of the LCD screen to see if it will fit - will let you know.

I had a local in-car installer do mine for me. Two screens in the back and the DVD player in the top glovebox, all in IIRC was about just under £600 fitted.

Does the job very well. With the way the electronics market is going, this install would be a bit cheaper now.

Only problem with that type of install is I have the rear A/C with the air vents where the screens might go, so not sure how this would work Confused hence thought I would try the screens in the headrests

mmm, now there is a neat idea - I presume they just fit in the seats like the headrests?? and then no problem in fitting this size screen....

Just a bit scary cutting the back of the seats, as dread to think how much they will cost to replace??

Also, not sure where all the bits will be for the heated seat part? Don't really want to cut a hole and then find no good Shocked Will have to have a good look tonight....

The leather cover comes off ..just peels off !!

Heater looks to be nearer the front so there should be room.

Have some instructions if you want to have a look what your letting yourself in for Shocked

Pm me an email and i will forward them on to you . Thumbs Up
