For some time now I am on the lookout for a used D3. The latest candidate, '08 D3 with 148k km, showed exactly the same symptoms as described here in this thread: rpm dips during light acceleration accompanied by vibrations. The dealer is still waiting for advice from Land Rover's specialists here in Holland.
For what I understand from the info here at least the torque converter must be replaced? Or does it need a complete rebuild of the transmission? Does the body have to be lifted for this repair?
The whole affair will learn me something about the level of service provided by the official LR dealership before I buy the car, I hope...
