Testing FBH grrrrr!!

Hi all,

Tested the FBH the other day, with the help of geoff's Faultmate as i had issues with it using my BAS FBH controller!

Plenty of smoke after priming and test run Whistle

But:-

After about 3 minutes of running the FBH shuts down Big Cry and the odd thing is the Faultmate says that the test was successful.

Any ideas guy's??

Its the same with BAS controller too, runs then shuts down, and NO fault codes stored on the Faultmate or my IIDTool.

Car has plenty of fuel, you can hear the FBH fuel pump ticking too,so i'm a bit puzzled Whistle, basically it shuts down every time just before you get to the stage where it sounds like a jet engine roaring!!

Help winters coming Big Cry

Also done a hard reset on the car too just in case, but no different.

Thanks Mick,

i'm assuming fuel line is ok,because when its primed with the fault mate,it put plenty of fuel into it hence the large amounts of puff, and when running you can hear the FBH fuel pump ticking away, pipe work seems to be in order too!

PS.can we test fuel line for pressure etc via the webasto software?

Heya...

I have the same problem with a detail my FHB operates at low altitude, but not at my house, altitude 1050 M!?.

Do the test with webasto software, default reader FCR: no start ......

Why, what the relationship with the altitude? I confirm that it works perfectly in low altitude! Question

In this photo, it works and suddenly goes off ........I noticed that the dosing pump going at its maximum when the FHB cuts!? ..

Hi Darrell,

I get a similar issue. MSV primes and it runs / tests OK, as soon as I use it via my BAS it cuts out after about 5 mins. Early diagnosis was coolant pump issues but that proved not to be the case so I'm a bit stumped right now.

EDIT: No go at all this morning Big Cry

Marco the only thing I could think of is the air to fuel ratio is wrong with you being that high up and the air is thinner, when you run the test with the webasto software have you tried adjusting the co2 adjuster to see if that helps any just crank it up when its running.

Another test to see if its that would be to spray some easy start in the air hose on the fbh and see if it fires up ok at your house.

Not heard of this one before..

When you test the FBH with the Faultmate I assumed it was only supposed to run for a couple of minutes?

Yep , I tried , but no way : software said : no good values or something like calculator is not in the good conditions and close the window, I have no time to change or enter values..???.....
I confirm , FHB work properly in "low" altitude... So it's a good idea , but can't do something with software , why ?

Yep , I try this, but , nothing , sometimes , I've got the 'flame detector' on, but, FHB goes down after few time...
Thank for your help Flack Thumbs Up
