Good buy (IMO).
I was interested to read what Goodyear said about off-road performance and clearing mud etc.
I've been off road in a D3 fitted with Vredestein Wintrac's, first sign of mud the Vreds clogged up and turned to slicks. I'm not knocking the Vreds, they're not supposed to cope with mud, my point is that the Goodyears don't look radically different to the Wintrac's.
I've always found Goodyear's own description of their tyres to be accurate, so if you go off road, please let us know how the Ultra Grip's cope with mud.

Did the Duratracs loose/not get their winter (mountain & snowflake) markings?

Classified as All Season and Off Road. Plus, only 2/5 for wet road use.
Whilst I'm sure they'll be good in deep/fresh snow, as were/are the MTR's, Duratracs aren't a winter tyre. Not sure if they still have the mountain snowflake symbol on the new ones or not.

I used them on a few forest trails marshalling for rallies; rutted and frozen mainly.D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

I'm really interested to know if they'll clog up with mud easily.
But, I do know that mud varies wildly. I've driven through mud at Eastnor LRE on OE fit Pirelli Scorpions with no problems at all, yet I've also encountered the type of cloying mud that turned my Goodyear MTR's into slicks.

Hi LT, the ground was mostly frozen so not really tested mud as you find at Eastnor.
If you're after tyres to clear mud, a larger block size like the AT Grabber might be a better option.

I'm fine with my Pirelli ATR's, never been stuck yet, although I've come close a couple of times on Salisbury Plain in the mud. I used to have a set of 19" rims fitted with MTR's, but realised that actually the ATR's were nearly as good off road and brilliant on road. So like some other ATR users here, I sold the MTR's and now run ATR's all year round.
But I'm interested in a proper winter tyre, with the braking performance that high silica compounds offer at low temperatures, but that can also cope with muddy tracks and fields.
The Duratrac is too aggressive for my needs, which are 20k+pa business use miles combined with weekend use for the various field sports I pursue.
I doubt what I want a winter tyre to do for me will ever exist. They'll always have to be a compromise. Fortunately here in the West, we don't get such cold winter weather.
