would a "gift" through paypal work with CC?

Can't you just register the credit card rather than the bank account? And use it as the payment source

It looks like you can but they need to validate it...two transactions appear over the next few days...and this is you 'authorisation pin'.... not instant alas!

Surely a picture and the story from DiscoDunc would be enough
to convince her Thumbs Up

AND... you can do everything to the car yourself.
Which will save on any garage costs, maintenance, parts etc.

Been there, done that

Can't someone not go to a bank and deposit cash on someone else's
account with the account and sort-code details?
For arguments sake go to a RBS bank for an RBS account?

No - money laundering regulations stopped that.

But one can send an instant electronic transfer from your account to almost any other through FastPay - and at no charge. Hence huge decline in PayPay and similar third part transaction processors.

Not even 500 quid?
Not the whole purchase price. I only meant for the deposit.

They will only accept pre-printed pay in slips, unless for your own account.

So you would have to post your pay-in book to the other person to make the deposit.
