Our car is on 102750 miles and has come up with a message saying service due in 600 miles and 26 hours or days? is this right or should i just wait till 105k miles,
also whats due at this service i know its the belts, and pulleys what else happens?

i know its about 850 quid, but we have budgeted for that,
one of the reasons the dealer knocked some cash off the car

looking at that, they do quite a bit,
but still seems steep, im assuming that the belts and pullys are the main cost due to labour,

... had mine done at the local main dealer as they were doing a deal - £599 for belts and full 105k service. Did phone a couple of local indie's but they all said they couldnt compete with that price.

May be worth you speaking to your local main dealer to see what they say. All I would say it take the service schedule with you and make sure they do everything they should be doing...

olly_love: The discounted offer of £599 has been a long standing deal at your local Stratstones Land Rover.

Phone them and ask the question, probably save you £200. Wink

stratsones quotes 830
im going to try my indie today,

the car has a full harwoods history but tbh i think the 400 quid i may save i wont make back on the price of the car

A lot will depend on the service history, what "extras" you want, and for how long you are intending to keep the car.

Read the threads here carefully, and then consider:-

A MegaFlush of the gearbox.

Changing the oil in the front & rear differentials & the transfer box.

Replacing idlers and the (2) bolts & tensioner in addition to the two belts (front & rear).

Replacing water pump.

Replacing oil pump & bolts.

Try a couple of Indies - I recommend Mark West at West 4 x 4

Good luck

You should definitely have that done when they're doing the belts.

Only takes them about 5 minutes extra to do it.
You can even get the parts from The Large One and supply
them to the garage doing the work.

They fitted mine for free at Stratstone Bury after asking nicely.

hunters southampton quoted me 920, which one did you go to? worth me driving somewhere to get it done

Im going to keep shopping around, would rather have it done by a dealer just to get the stamp, but all depends on price
