2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Stornoway GreyDiscovery 3
Switched live by front aux

I do not have a cigarette lighter in my car but 2 aux ports. Neither of which are permenant live.

I was going to splice off one for the DVD player and noticed there is a red and brown wire just held on a plastic clip behind these aux ports. Is this a live wire and if it is, is it switched or live?

Thanks

Sorry, another simple question

The 12v socket has a purple/ green wire and black wire, which is the live wire?

Thanks

Red/brown is for dash illumination - probably for the lighter ring when it is fitted.

Now that's useful to know.

I can use that feed to power the illumination LED in my aux Spotlight switch.
