ipod in D3s also a simpel way

Hi boys,

I've found a maybe even more simpel way to connect our IPOD to the standard Disco3 radio. Just order your cable by Adaptor Universe, its only 12 euro's.
Then cut off the tulip plugs and connect them to the dvd plug on the back site of the radio and connect the 12V wires to the 12V of the 12V power plug near the ashtray.

This way you have only one kabel on the IPOD, for charching and audio the propper way.

If you cut off the red and black plug from the kabel, strip them and you wil see there is one blanc and red and one blanc en white. Put the blanc ones togheter and connect them whit the black one on the dvd plug on the back on the radio.
Simply, cut the dvd wire as far away as passible from the dvd plug.
Then connect the red to red and the white to the bleu wire on the dvd plug.
Rhight audio is connected now.

I've picked up the 12V power from the 12V plug, left from the ashtray.
Connect the black 12V wire to the black one on the power plug. The red 12V to the purple of the 12V power plug.

Now, if you switch your contact on, you are charging the IPOD.

Push the radio to AUX, start your IPOD and there you go.

Pictures are in my galery

Sucses, Piet.

How about using an FM transmitter? these been tried D3's for clear reception. Only cable you need is power for it...
Why does every page of the manual have fingerprints?

I have one of those... Apparently there is so much noise in the frequency range you can use that I have never been able to fine a frequency I could use one day without interference...

yes a common problem like you say a clear frequency is needed. although i found in the past if the transmitter (cheaper ones particularly) is tucked away it does cause poor reception. i'll be trying my Apple transmitter when i get back from this trip...

I'm not sure if you have an AUX port or not. If you do, I've been using one of these for the last couple of years.

It even has a little power boost button to amplify the input a little so you don't have to turn the volume up to 20 to hear anything, which means the Sat Nav doesn't scream at you all the time. Smile

They work really well.

Nice Piet:
I will give it a try, I found similar item but with an additional 3.5mm male plug where one can connect, in addition to an ipod, another sound source such as an mp3, phone, etc. Here is the link if some one is interested.
