I always clear them anyway with the Autologic just to be on the safe side. With the system all interlinked its more the invalid data faults that appear in the other systems that will be logged as historic. Saying that though these things will put a fault code in there at the drop of a hat. When we get a vehicle in and we like to give the customer a printout of all the faults in the vehicle and then another on completion of the repair with the faults cleared. I like to think owners appreciate that the printouts are proof and we are being honest with their vehicle.

There is a SW upgrade for the new compressor and a new relay to be fitted.
If you know someone with an Autologic or Faultmate I would go and see them once you have fitted your new Compressor.

Once you fit a new compressor the faults will clear but you must also fit the new relay and then update to the latest software, as the new software cuts the running time of the pump to make it last longer.
And as Brian GOG says the faults are still on the system even when you have cleared them but they are non tested faults and will stay on the system until they get over written with new non tested faults.
Changing the pump is easy, its if the pipes come out and the anchor nuts in the chassis don't fall to bits when you undo them..
Was just thinking if he's going on his hols straight afterwards, he doesn't have to stress with getting the fault codes reset and the software upgraded....

I've taken mine off a couple of times to fit the overhaul kit and also change the desiccant.
It's an easy 2 hours on the drive - remembering patience and cleanliness are the best tools in the kit.
In addition to the new relay I would strongly recommend buying new captive nuts and bolts for the compressor mounting - they are pennies.
The top nut comes off with patience - I used a very slim open ended spanner - it's no big deal.
While I was there I also took the foam off - I can see no purpose for it except to hold mud and then freeze solid in winter causing more problems. The slight increase in noise is of no concern to me.
I also used contact cleaner on the electrical connectors and a little Vaseline to keep them clean.I see no ships........

plenty of WD40 on the bolts and leave to soak.
took my compressor off day before yesterday for the first time in its lifetime and the top bolt sheered off half way through undoing it Duncan
