could this softmod be usefull for us with MY06?
Although we do not get the error code, it should probably be a plus to get this system deactivated completely. Can i with the MY06 and Petes BASmap disconnect the leads to the butterfly and the EGR valve? - My 2006 D3 HSE PP

I feel that i got more black smoke when pulling my caravan after EGR removal and bellperformance, and since one here mentioned black smoke disappeared after bell softmod update for my07, maybe that would do the trick on my06 too ?. - My 2006 D3 HSE PP
You state
“The patch can ONLY be applied to owners of the BAS remap interface & MSV2 Tune owners and that the car it is used on MUST have the egr blanked and butterfly removedâ€
Can you please clarify, what will happen when we take the car in to a main dealer, as you yourself recommend we remove the performance remap prior to a main dealer visit as the remap is tied to the ECU thus ensuring that if the ECU is flashed by the dealer no harm is done.
What is the recommended procedure when the EGR patch is installed, do we have to remove the patch similar to the Remap prior to the vehicle visiting a dealer, if so do we have to refit the butterfly etc ?In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

You may want to back off on the fuelling slightly if your getting black smoke, or make sure your hoses are OK (not delaminating) causing a restriction when working the engine hard.
The patch is meant for 2007 with different engine mangement system.

Syd, yes this is a valid question.
As you are aware and have pointed out to maintain control over the BAS remap interface the car must be returned to original for dealer visits incase they make a software update which leaves the bas interface firmware locked out and in an unusable state.
I can only advise you do the same even if the egrs are blanked. I know the whole idea of the patch is to enable blanking so removal of the patch for the dealer visit does not make sense, but the most important part is to maintain control over the bas interface and prevent lockout so it must be done.
This I suppose will only affect cars that have dealer warranty, in which case they would probabally not be blanking the egrs as they could get them fixed for free under warranty anyway.
This patch is more aimed as requested by members for cars MY2007> with no warranty, or cars that dont visit the dealers much more than ones that can get free standard egr repairs under warranty.
