In total blissful ignorance until I read this thread.
Car is running as sweet as a nut but I am now worried that my EGR will fail as I overtake a tanker full of petrol causing a catastrophic motorway pileup and the death of countless innocent motorists......
I am now desperate to blank my 2007 EGR (Essential and Glorious Repair?).....
.........so Santa has been sent a letter with my "EGR fix" request..... lets hope the nice people at Bell Autos forgoe the Xmas revelry and bring the holy grail of (post 2007) Disco 3 ownership to all true believers.
Ignorance is truly bliss.................
ps - never worried about erectile dysfunction either until I got hundreds of emails telling me it was a problem ... life is a bitch etc.....

Yep add me to the list for availability too please!
I don't have a DPF according to my VIN number, so getting rid of the EGR's will help my end goal for more power when it comes to tuning time...

Yeah as Den said ^^^
The Diesel Particulate Filter is an inline box (looks like another silencer) that collects all of the soot. A pressure sensor recognizes when it's full and super heats it all to clean it all out. The car needs to get up to full operating temperature before it will work properly. It usually fails when people buy diesels for local cold stop/start short journeys, where the car never gets up to full operating temp, therefore never gets chance to 'regenerate'.
This is a really bad design and cure for emissions, that causes issues to most car makers/users issues when it clogs up. Expensive to replace too!
Decent re-mappers can remove the DPF files completely and once eradicated you can safely remove the DPF from the exhaust system and replace with a straight through pipe.

Oh gloom - wish I hadn't asked! There seem to be a lot of problems caused by "so called" emission control stuff. I wonder if anyone has worked out if in the "long run" they really do any good!

Could you post the link, as I could only find Pre 2007 blanking kits for Euro 3 engines on the BAS website.

David, I can do this for you inc BAS EGR software patch. Bodsys Brake Bible
Anybody near Farnborough that can do egr delete on my 2008 please ?
Does not matter where you live, (I'm Church Crookham) you can install the Pete Bell (BAS) remap and EGR blank Via the Diagnostic socket yourself, and remove the map when your car goes in for a service.
I had a BAS map and egr blank on my 2008, totally changed the car
