Windscreen seal doesn't look right to me
Noticed over the passed few weeks a wet carpet on passenger footwell, thought it might be sunroof drain tubes, tested them and seemed to drain away, but then noticed this ... doesn't look right to me, any advice please ...?

Short term try somthing like silicon in there to prove that that is where the water is coming in, if that works you can then look at a more permanent fixMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

That rubber strip should continue on under the A-pillar cover but if the screen is bonded correctly i wouldn't have thought it would leak. I have heard that a blocked aircon drain can cause a spill over in the car, I checked the drains on my dad's D2 when i serviced it the other day and ended up with a very wet arm! It could also be the A-pillar cover leaking if the screen has been replaced and they haven't replaced the cover.

The air con pipes were going to be next on the list to check but when I saw the gap on the screen I thought it could be the cause. Followed Russell's advice and sealed it just to eliminate the possibility.
Is it quite easy to check air con bits?

From tinkering with my car at present because I have a spot of rust at the top of the offside A pillar, I'd say if the windscreen was correctly bonded to the metal then that would the the waterproof seal. But the rubber trim would certainly help in driving 99% of the water away before it got to it.
What if you removed the offside trim? I bet that the strip has been fitted too far over on one side so it just needs taking off and refitting so it's central. Start at one end by moving upwards and outwards and she'll soon be off,
edit - looking at your photo the trim doesnt look the same as mine... mine has an extra bit if thin rubber (like a windscreen wiper blade) at the top which makes a seal against the metal of the roof as it comes downwards, if I'm looking at your photo correctly. Might be worth looking at another D3 to see what it has (or to releive it of it's trim late at night )

Johnnychainsaw.....I had the same problem...is the trim above that runs the length of the roof loose also ?....I got new clips from Nick (TLO)
I then re-seated the rubber window seal with clear silicone,and re-attached the roof trim with the new clip...5 minute job and no further issues
ps The roof trim goes over the rubber window seal "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool,than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Johnnychainsaw, i'm going to check my D3 aircon drains too after D2 experience the other day. They should be high up on the transmission tunnel either side of the gearbox directly under the heater area so the gearbox undertray will have to come off. I'll let you know if you don't beat me to the job!

Is there any chance someone could take a photo of there trim around windscreen so i can compare. I've had the car for nearly three years and not had windscreen replaced in that time. I noticed a few weeks back carpet was a bit damp, was horrified yesterday when I lifted carpet how much water was there. Starting to think it might be that the drain tube from sunroof has disconnected behind fuse box. Going to spend a couple of hours later to attempt to solve the problem (more gloating and sarcastic comments from neighbour to put up with).

Look on the windscreen for the makers motif, if it is not LR it has had a new screen inproperly fitted at some time.It can when others can't,

Been out this morning to check things out after some heavy showers last night. I am pretty sure the cause of wet floor is blocked valve from sunroof drain. Rodded pipe with curtain flex but makes no difference, going to have to attempt wheel arch liner removal. is there a useful post that will guide me through it?

Glad my SE doesn't have sun roofs!
I have removed my mates nsf arch liner but it was ages ago, iirc it wasn't difficult at all, sorry i can't remember the fine detail except i remember the plastic clips can prove tricky pull the centre out, use a couple of decent sized screwdrivers if you don't have one of those trim clip removers shaped like a horse shoe.
