I've decided to take it to a mates workshop on monday to do it as he has all the tools and expertise. Such a stupid design along with all the others I could mention. Still at least once it's done I can cross it off the list and prepare myself for the next thing to go wrong.

How do you know it has made no difference?- have you tried pouring water in the sun roof gutter when the roof is open?
A simple way to clear it is to cut the end off a cycle pump adapter, the part that connects to the valve and push it into the drain pipe as you have done with the curtain wire an give it a few pumps. The pour water down it to see if it's cleared, when it has put a few drops of silicone lubricant or glycerine down it to stop the valve sticking, or cut it off at the bottom.
I have known the pipe to come off where it connects to the sun roof under the roof linning. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I did pour water after giving it a good rodding but made no difference. I will try bike pump method tomorrow and cross my fingers it works, if it does where do i get silicone lube from?

I tried bike pump method to clear blockage but couldn't get a good enough seal, decided to drop roof liner, pulled pipe off fitting and gave it a couple of blows and to my delight it cleared, was so good to see water dribbling out by mudflap. I poured some degreaser down and flushed it through, then gave myself a pat on the back for persevering. Sorted windscreen seal (had been fitted to far on other side)
