My experience too. I fitted ATs at 9k miles in January 2010, & have run them since them. Now at 36k - that's 25k miles, and wear is MINIMAL.

I don't belive it, but I have checked and it really is correct.

I estimate I may get 50k miles from a set of 4 ATs, maybe more.

I'm upto 25k on AT2's at the mo!
They've stood up well to off road use, have got nick's on the side walls, but nothing too serious.
I feel sidewall damage is the luck of the draw, know 2 D3 owners on MTR's to lose 2 tyres due to side wall damage on the same lane - but that's just bad luck, not the fault of any tyre choice JMTPW

Thanks Andy.

You recommended them, supplied them, & fitted them.

I live on a BOAT (Byway open to all traffic) so they go "off-road" for 100 yards every day on mostly flint.

They get lots of use more seriously off road in the shooting season, plus lots of motorway miles.

I couldn't be more pleased.

When not towing his caravan, the OP uses his Disco on road. On road, the Pirelli ATR gives better fuel economy and less noise than the GG AT. But as described in the various All Terrain tyre tests that the ATR has won, it's more than capable of dealing with a churned up caravan site.

But don't take my word for it, here's a quote from a forum member who replaced his AT's with ATR's:

Had general Ats and now got pirelli atrs. The atrs give better economy. Wear rate appears similar i think. Overall happy with the atrs. Even on the farm they havent gotten stuck yet.

Quite right Nasher, thats what we find from all our customers in whatever size AT they are using. Thumbs Up

Another great thing about the General Grabber AT is they are very available and affordable which is great if you do have a problem, we allways keep good stock.

Biggest problem sadly with the AT/R is supply which from my experiance is quite poor, so some may say it's because they are so popular but the AT outsells the AT/R all the time especially in the south.

LT...why don't you post of your own experiences rather than use other forum members quotes to boost your argument?.
From an outsiders point of view it looks like you have a personal problem with AJS that is detrimental to the opinion of the majority of the forum members.
Please keep your views as observations in your own right and stop trying to rubbish all the good work and service that Andy and the gang have built up over the years on here Wink
There will never be a winner in a "wots the best tyre " thread, so the guy asking the question is after forum members experiences as they will tell it as it is, not some biased twisted opinion from some nobber that has an axe to grind, so kindly jog on my pedigree chum Thumbs Up
