Thanks hgbosch, nicely explained and appreciated
It all seems to make sense to add the stuff - Especially the added lubricity. I have heard that the lower sulphur content is no friend to HP diesel pumps. Maybe this will help extend the life of a pump.

Hi ronk
not maybe - most definitely does it protect the HPFP and the injectors. Just for your information, on the HPFP it is the high pressure seal that suffers from premature wear, when modern diesel is used.
However with the addition of 2sO this can be prevented. I have had the priviledge to inspect many HPFP's some with and some without the addition of 2sO. The difference between the two (km's run before rebuild) is normally about 2.5 - 3 times further with 2sO in diesel. EX AFRICA SEMPER ALIQUID NOVI

I've also got a 250ml bottle so that I can just do a one shot application at the pump.

No - 250 would only treat 50 litres.
The suggested ratio is 1:200 - some people, myself included
go over that somewhat.
So:-
250 cc to 50 litres
200 cc to 40 litres
100 cc to 20 litres
put the Castrol Activo 2T in first when refuelling so that it's
well mixed by the incoming fuel.

Would you recommend Castrol over any other 2-stroke ( for instance Carlube low-ash ) ? The consensus appears to be that one should use JASO FC rated compliant mineral oil such as Castrol Actevo 2T, it has been suggested that JASO FB mineral is also OK.
Carlube low-ash appears to be mineral & JASO FB compliant so should be OK; but no warranties !

Well I trawled through the whole thread and others and poured about 500ml of Actevo into the tank at today's fill. I also applied some to my left foot, so my next purchase will be a long/flexible necked funnel.
Very short drive afterwards, can't say I noticed much difference...yet.

Hi guys
the main reason to use JASO-FC compliant 2so in mineral or part synthetic form is two-fold:
1. It is DPF friendly, i.e. it won't clog up the DPF
2. This is the main one - It is formulated to remove and prevent the build up of carbon deposits most effectively.
#2 is also the main reason, why DPF-equipped cars spiked with 2sO experience a much longer interval between DPF regeneration (longer intervals = less solid particles in the exhaust gas). EX AFRICA SEMPER ALIQUID NOVI

The Actevo has a pull out nozzle to make pouring more accurate. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I saw that but it seemed not quite long enough. I'll try and manoeuvre the bottle a bit better next time...it was cold!

I just found this thread and had a very, err long read
I own a 2005 TDV6 SE D3 which I understand is a model not fitted with a dpf, could someone put me right on this please?
I also have never put any oil into my fuel tank in the 6 years I have owned it but after reading this thread think I will give it a go.
I will have a look at what my local ASDA has to offer. regards

I'd wait and add it next time to be honest
For no other reason than the fact I think the oil will dissipate better in the tank as its washed around and suspended in the fuel ?
That's all my own thinking which is probably wrong Only dead fish go with the Flow !
