In case its affected the emissions! Then the costs might outweigh the benefits!

No emissions test for diesel cars in the UK MoT, only a particle test. The TUV test in Germany does have a full diesel emission test and to help some cars pass people add 2 stroke!Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Chalky you are correct but a fair few members choose not to read threads or use the search function and just post questions instead. Don't know how you prevent it without loosing the friendliness of the site.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

It might be a good idea to summarise when a thread gets a bit long. Especially when ther seems to be a definative conclusion.
I have noticed that some questions are resurrected as membership changes. This doesnt seem to be unique to D3.co.uk either.

Hi All
lets help ronk here.
the use of 2sO actually LOWERS solid particle emission. This is borne out by the fact that on engines run on 1:200 2sO added, DPF regeneration takes between 2 - 2.25 times as long as when run with diesel only. This is also the reason, why adding 2sO helps to pass the german TÃœV test for older diesel powered vehicles
Furthermore the addition of 2sO will actually reduce carbon deposits on injector tips, as well as from ring grooves, combustion chambers etc.
The above are all extra benefits over and above the main reason to add 2sO, namely to increase lubricity of diesel.EX AFRICA SEMPER ALIQUID NOVI
