If so, are they any good?

After a not so good attempt with the DemonShine Snow Foam, I've opted for the group buy Deal 4 with MagiFoam.

must be a never ending group buy as that post is from September 2010. Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

I always get my stuff from cleanyourcar.co.uk, they do various snow foams, i have been using Valet Pro ph neutral for a while now and the stuff seems to last for ages. I reckon on 5 litres has lasted me 3 years so far.
Its always worth getting the mix right to get the product to work correctly though, i always take about 100ml and put in to the bottle of the snow foam lance then top up 3/4 with water to give me about 30% snow foam and 70% luke warm water, this seems to be the right mix for me.
I only find snow foam to work well with cars that have been previously polished, then waxed though, i never got great results on cars that have zero protection on.
In relation to water filters, i cant see the point as i always dry my car after cleaning then use a quick detailer to fnish so i never get water spots any how.

With regards to snow foam, I used it every time I washed the D3 for a long time.
In the end it ruined the black plastic under the front window and various other places. This was something that guys on the 'detailing forum' warned about, but it took a while to happen. In the end I had to buy all new parts for the Disco.
Basically they not only lost their colour and went a very light grey but became brittle and powdery!
I never use it now.
Best regards
Chris

Just gave them a call using the number in the post - spoke to John, a very nice chappy. Should be getting mine tomorrow.

Been a detailer of my cars for many years. Did that!
I just don't recommend using snow foam. Seen a lot of people before me suffer the same.

C6REW.... If I'm using the Valetpro NEUTRAL PH it shouldn't "grey" the plastics over time should it ?.....just checking because thats the very reason I went for a ph neutral one ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Hi,
Whilst it is some time since I have ventured near to 'snow foam' I think I would agree with you that if it is pH neutral it should be OK.
For total peace of mind, I would do a bit of research on the Detailing World forum:
http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/index.php
However, after using it and seeing the early results I would actually question the benefit. For me the best advice is to use a good wash making sure to follow the two bucket system. Then rinse, spray with QD (quick detailer) wipe off with 'proper' cloths.
I am sort of assuming you know about doing this, but if not I can post a list of bits I use when I get a chance.
In the meantime, here is a link to my D3 having just had a quick detail by me.
http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=217880
In fact, although it is a couple of years ago, I use almost the same products.
Best regards
Chris

You are obviously an expert at detailing, so can you explain to me why, when I use Magifoam with my Karcher Pro pressure washer I don't get a thick, clingy foam.
I do as instructed, fill bottle about an inch with foam, top up with lukewarm water, and have the regulator on the bottle set. The problem is, the only way I can get any foam at all is by having the screw wide open on the bottle.
What am I doing wrong, as most people swear by Magifoam and youtube shows lovely thick foam with a 5 minute dwell time.

Hi Paul,
Whilst I am not totally aware of which pressure washer nor what pressure you are working with, I am aware that you really do need the correct pressure washer, a decent amount of pressure from your water and the correct 'foam' bottle.
I ditched the bottle that came with my pressure washer and bought a dedicated one from one of the key detailing suppliers. The difference was chalk and cheese!
Best regards
Chris
