Timed A/C possible?

Hey guys,

since I'm living in the tropics Cactus I'd rather use the A/C than the heater Twisted Evil

It's 35 C right now and never gets cold enough for the heater anyway.

Is there a way to modify the Disco so that I can use timed climate and/or the remote to start the motor and have the A/C running instead of just venting the car??
Every time I'm coming back from the beach the leather interior is hot enough to fry eggs on it.

Would remote start mess with the alarm system?

Input is very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Not sure about the spec in HK but an MY12 HSE should have timed climate as standard. Remote timed climate is a possible upgrade definitely. Might have to speak to a local faultmate owner or similar to get it installed and enabled though. Failing that, your local dealer might be able to help?

Good luck with it and please let us know how you get on?

Thanks for the replies guys.

I do have the time climate/heater in the menu and also the seperate remote to start the heater. All the timed climate does though is open the vents, which gets the interior temp down to ambient temperature.
I don't know about specs of other countries, but here the A/C only works while the motor is running. If I park the car and turn off the motor but keep the power on (to listen to the radio), the climate will still blow air, just not cold air.
I believe the compressor of the A/C is driven by a belt off the motor.

So I would need a solution to have the motor started with the remote or the timer.

Hey mate

Did you ever find a way to get this mod up and running? Would be a great trick for the Aussie summer!
