Suspension noise on full lock

When reversing out of the drive onto the road, steering wheel to left full lock, as front wheels descend the small ( 1 inch or so ) step from driveway to road, there is a graunchy, grindy type of noise. Would this be normal... backing off from full lock a wee bit stops the noise. (yeah I know, Doctor Doctor, it hurts when I do this....)
Is there anyone that has experienced similar noise? Is there something wrong with driveshaft or wheel bearing, should I worry now or just mention it at first service in 6 months.

BTW Car just coming up to 5000 miles.

Anyone see the value in a 6000 miles oil change? I will do it if the opinion is that it is worthwhile.

Bought some topup oil from local LR dealer and they gave me Castrol GTX Magnatec, not even GTD deisel oil, just magnatec for modern engines "like what I would put in a petrol car", is this right?

Whoops, more than one question, take your pick...

Your steering lock stops need greasing (at my finger tip in the photo)

An oil change would not do any harm.[/url]

the noise is 'normal', there are a pair of cast bump stops on the lower front wishbones (Gareth has a piccy somewhere) a dab of grease on 'em will stop the noise Wink
IMO an intermediate oil change is only going to help.... but make sure you use a diesel engine oil, the detergents and molecular properties are different to petrol engine oil

Normal grease will do. I use the Land Rover branded 5w 30 oil. It is recommended for the TDV6 engine. Its not too expensive either.

result, that is nearly the all time easiest "fix" 20 seconds a side.

I also put a dab on the part the bum stop "bumps" into - was the only clean bit under those arches !!

My car just came back with brand shiny new lower wishbones, to which the dealer has applied copious quantities of copperslip grease to the lock stops.

It was clunking heavily when going over large bumps. Also clunked when the brakes were applied sharply.

Was passing my Dealer in Shrewsbury today & as I hadn't got around to buying some grease, popped in to see if they could do it.
No problem & whilst we're at it, we'll order your rear door speaker cover that's split.

Booked in for next wednesday to have the cover replaced. Should only be a pop in visit, over in a couple of minutes.

They initially wanted to book it in for a full check, but (thanks to this site) I knew the problem and the solution. another Thumbs Up to Disco3.co.uk

I had a similar sound this morning but only at access height, reversing with full lock. Is it the same solution?
