I have a Carlight caravan in the drive and have lost count of the number of times guys have knocked on the door asking if its for sale. These vans are very popular with the travellers, and their story always goes the same way " my Dad/Grandad/Uncle/Cousin used to have a Carlight, did you know they used to sell them by the foot at the factory". Rolling Eyes

I always make a point of having a chat with these guys and they are always genuinely interested in the caravan and I have never had any problems with them.

To be honest if someone wants your caravan they will have it, no matter what security devices you use. The best security device of them all, is good insurance Thumbs Up

Another variation to the theme.
You can get low cost DVR's and cameras - all different prices and spec but do the same job and most now have inbuilt webserver allowing you to connect to the system over the internet by mobile phone or PC. You can configure recording on motion so the internal hard drive is not filled with inactivity.
I've got one looking at my Caravan & Disco

The difference between a video and modern cloud based IP cameras is that it would send that to me instantly in small clips and I would be able to phone the police and even give them a direction of travel out of my drive. Not perfect and as you say if they want it they will get it. It just may be good intelligence/ evidence for the police and help track them down and prevent some other poor soul losing a van and if the clip is good enough convict them at a later date.

Personally I'd like to see the Censored who take it so I can keep an eye out for them on my travels!

They'll take the camera as well for good luck, especially if they think it's got a copper cable going into the clouds Laughing
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
