If its not broken, and runs fine, why go looking for faults? Confused

ahhhhh, yes remember this welll Big Cry

couple of observations for yer to ponder:

first of all check to see whether there is a fault code logged which would read something like "balance offset injector 3, cylinder X is at tollerance"

injector 3 balance offset is getting to the top end of tollerance (ie 0.7-1.3) which would indicate that it is a) overcompensating for another injector b) injector is failing.

However the first thought would be to change injector 3 as that is at a higher level but as two others are just a tadd higher it could be that one of those are failling and injector 3 is trying to balance off the shortfall.

From personal experience it would suggest either a compression issue or simply an injector failure issue in particular as you've had varying fuel consumption, so the FIRST point of call would be to have a compression test done to identify which side of the engine/which cylinder is having issues before you change any injectors for the following reason:

a) every time you replace an injector in the port the connectors/fuel pipe are "one fit only" and cost £50 each

b) as these are pezo injectors you cannot simply run the engine, disconnect each injector one at a time to find where the compression issues are as you will fubar the injector/s and at the best part of £200 plus each you'd be better off spending the dosh in identifying the real issue rather then simply hoping that injector 3 is the cue (if only a so called "injector specialist" remembered this when they did mine, they'd not be paying out £100's in compensation Whistle ).

c) where the 105k belt service might have been done recently, LR dealers use locking pins to position the pulley whereas some "traditionallist" use a white mark which can lead to the crankshft being out of alignment, thus knocking out a valve, hence loss of compression.

d) it might be that having replaced what you think to be a faulty injector might result in the vehicle displaying a "misfire"

So from my personal experiences recently, approach with caution but in a logical fashion and get its looked at as soon as possible Thumbs Up

BTW, the default to 1.0 across the range when you put the pedal down is common and even when you've changed all the injector for new ones Whistle

personally if 0.7 - 1.3 is the expected tolerance then they are within spec and ok

first thing i would do is change fuel filter (use a genuine one) and shove a full bottle of fuel system cleaner through it "thats if you are concerned" and then see what your readings are after that

my opinion is that you have sorted your mpg out if it has gone up straght after the intercooler pipe replacement and you are just worried and trying to find somthing

the injectors on a d3 are on the whole very reliable with not many posts if you search the site relaiting to faults with them unlike egr valves, turbo actuators, juddery auto box and suspension bushes that will make up nearly every other thread

I called up landrover and spoke to the tech guy there that i must say i do trust as when the car was under waranty he allways explained every thing to me as he knew i was hgv mechanic his awnser to me was that the ecu runs the injectors and that i should take the readings again when cold when warm and when at its normal runing temp and ring him back so i did he said before you tell me i bet they are all different again so stop worying unless it is playing up, so from now on unless something is wrong iam chilled out again all runing fine getting 32mpg around town I love my d3 thanks to you all regards steve
