The time has come......my service reminder came up yesterday for my 105k/7 year service.....any recommendations for further work while they are delving into the darkest corners of my engine bay ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

They need to drain some of the coolent off to do the belts so get them to drain it fully and put new antifreeze in at the same time.
Coming up your way tomorrow bud

I had a new water pump fitted as discussed here. Not a lot £'s, for peace of mind.
Also, make sure that the tensioner pulley is changed. Mine was worn so the dealer did it as a matter of course, but not all do.

Get the parts from TLO all parts 2xtension pulleys with new bolts and water pump less than £100 delivered ( dealer wanted £200 for water pump alone) then ask how much extra to fit they did mine for free after quoting extra £65 plus get your old parts back that way you know they have changed them. Like you say piece of mind Goodyear Duratracs

Ok that's a thought....so what sort of labour hours are we looking at for the whole job, roughly ?.....Just thinking,to play fair,I may have to do a deal with my Indie to compensate him a little as he would be losing his parts mark-up (assuming he agrees in principal)
He quoted me £600 a few months back for belts and service "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

More than likely a D4 .....does everything I ask in a car at this point in my life......
wasn't looking to change but my brother is currently setting up an avian pest control business http://www.addhawk.co.uk/ which will require a fair bit of off-roading.....he asked if I would consider selling the D3...at least the old girl will be staying in the family "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
