Changing to an All Terrain Tyre
I'm currently running 295/45/R20 General Grabber UHP's, but with them coming near the end of there life, I'm considering to swapping to an 'All Terrain' Tyre
I looked at the Coopers, but I think the biggest they do is a 275/45?
Anyone got any reccomendations?
Thanks

Thanks for the replies, but dont want to go down in size, I want to stick to the 20's 8)
THFC - You have a PM regarding the 285/50/20's
But at the moment I'm close to ordering the Cooper LTz's in 275/45/20
I assume its not possible to just change the fronts first? i.e. can I run 275/45 on the front and the existing 295/45 on the rear until the rears are a little more worn? Or just change them all?
Thanks
Ade

I used to run the 295 Grabber UHP's, then moved to the LTZ in 285/50 on my old D3
But now down to 275/45 LTZ's on my D4.
I love my big rubber, but the 275's aren't now a problem!
I'd change them all - wouldn't want to mix and run an AT with a UHP tyre on the same vehicle.

When you ran the 285/50's on your D3, what were the width of the alloys?
I think my wheels may be either 9J or 9.5J, and been advised by a couple of places that the 285/50's will rub

Derek, you know I'm a bit of d!ck, so hence the big rubber
Ade my wheels from my D3 were 9.5 width, but these are still the same wheels I'm running now on my D4.
If you're running the Grabbers with no rubbing then you shouldn't get rubbing on the 285 LTZ's [if you can get them] never mind the 275's.
The 285's will rub on later model D3's and D4's due to a chassis intrussion into the front wheel well and may also rub with some earlier D3's, but that's all dependant on wheel width and/or offset.

Got Cooper 235/70 ATR's on my 17inch wheels and they are excellent IMHO. Great in mud and snow (three trips to the Alps on them in serious snow and performed brilliantly). Fine all year round on the tarmac, slipways and muddy fields. Last for ever too, 50K miles plus and still going...down to 4mm on the front now though so new set imminent...
