RSE "audio volume limiter" does it work?

Hi guys, has anyone got ~2011 d4 with rear entertainment and wired headphones? I do and pressing the AVL (audio volume limiter) button on thr front RSE screen has no effect, the instructions suggests it limits the maximum volume in headphones (like on iPods etc) - useful for kids. I've had it checked under warranty and the answer is "it wasn't meant to work but was intended for a future upgrade". Anyone have it working? Thanks in advance.
Jamwal.

Hi Jamwal,
Had my 59 D4 a few weeks and I am still learning/ playing with all the toys.
From what I can see on mine the AVL button on the front screen appears to disable the volume control buttons on the rear doors

Hi, that's a good question as the AVL is not working on mine either and I have actually noticed that even the sound control is not working. Is it working on yours?

Hi,
Do you mean the volume buttons on the rear door panels?
Mine is working fine but I did have a problem with 1 side when I got the car. The screen was not working or any of the buttons. I tracked it down to a multi pin connector under the seat - the pins inside had not been pulled through enough and was making an intermittent contact. I suspect it had been like this from new.
