Thanks Wiggs. I have dropped Navteq an email via the Land Rover website to see when they expect an update.

Thanks TLO.
I just thought of a drawback to the D4; you cannot post out map updates. D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

theoretically i can use your details to get the unlock code for you to take to the dealers to update it
they will still charge you approx 1 hour comp time to download TLO has left the building.......

I thought the update came in May, usually, despite other Navteq powered products having 4 updates per year!
I wish LR would do the same as Garmin and offer some sort of once-off licence with free updates....

Update:
Just to confuse matters, this is the reply I got back from my message via the LR web site. (It goes to NAVTEQ Maps Customer Service)
Quote:Thank you for contacting NAVTEQ Maps.
The current map update version that is available for your navigation system is the 2011-2012 release which was released in 2011.
However NAVTEQ cannot supply this map update directly as it is only available via your local Land Rover dealer directly. Your dealer is required to upload the map on to your navigaton system and there after order an activation code to activate the map once it has been installed. D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

Thats correct
unlike D3 etc with a disc update (as in you install a physical disc in the drive) the HDD version the only disc is with the dealer, you buy an unlock code, dealer downloads the disc to a Navteq magic box which is fitted between car and IDS and it downloads data files to the car, simples
even if you had the disc you cannot install it as you need this inbetween box and you also need an unlock code to allow it to install which when ordered you have to upload vin number so it's unique to the car
you infact will pay for 2 things
1, the unlock code
2, the workshop time to install
i know, i know it's expensive compared to Garmin etc but thats how it is i'm afraid
i am still able to order the unlock code for you with your chassis number and i will do my best to do discount on as normal but you still need dealer involvement to use the code TLO has left the building.......

And that's why the uptake for a map upgrade on D4 and 2010MY+ RRS or FFRR will be so low
Eventually if the cost comes down some may bother but I can't see me being one of them
