What is the general concensous on buying a high mileage d4. Say 60000 miles ? Has anyone got experience of owning to this mileage and if so are there any significant problems. This may be the only way that I can justify an upgrade from my excellent d3 as i cover so few miles and use it as a second car. Discovery 3 HSE 55 plate Buckingham Blue with Alpacha
Discovery 300 TDI auto, one of the last, now gone

Defender td5 full county pack, from new lovely lovely, now gone
Defender 110 12 seater 300tdi no heater, good prep for antarctic, now gone

Really model dependent, GS has gone for £27'ish but better spec say HSE rarely seen below early 30's.
These are with 3.0ltr engine not the earlier 2.7
Mileage and condition along with FSH are the determining factors.

If the damage is minor why not repair it and sell it for market value?

Cheap if you know how to repair assuming cost of repairs stack up, cat d would indicate minor damage , but the re sale value will always be lower.
Nice car if you intend to keep it a while though ....................................................................................................

Agree, something odd ?
There doesn't appear to be frontal damage, so why would the airbag have deployed?
plus no service records or log book, at time of advertising ?
and its not a 'luxury sports car'
...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

How many times can you put the word 'Desirable' in an ad? Wonder if its a repo? Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.

Isn't cat D "uneconomical to repair" so on a motor worth £35K pre-accident it could have racked up £20K of damage to make it uneconomical? Surely if it was that "minor" then the insurance company would have paid out for repairs and put it back on the road? 2014 D4 XS

The photos indicate frontal damage, mainly on the off side.. Look at the gap on the top of the headlights.
Looks like an easy repair with bolt on parts... Bonnet, wing/s bumper, arches, slam panel, headlight? And airbag
The weird thing is the condition of the airbag... It looks like it wanted to go off but changed its mind If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works
