Will there ever be a D5?
I am hearing more and more that the D4 might be the last Discovery and that the new Defender will fill the 7 seat market. Seems nuts to me as I was waiting 2-3 years to get a D5 to replace my D3. Might have to get a D4 then!

There will definitely be a D5..........or I'll have something to say about it!!!!
I can't see LR getting rid of one of their best selling vehicles. But they know as well as we do that the D5 will have to be affordable and economic. So expect a new radical design....2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

If seven seats were the only requirement then we'd all be migrating to the Grande Evoque

I had heard that the DISCOVERY would be dropped from the line up and that the SPORT would gain 7 seats to fill that gap ?
Which seems absurd to me as the Sport does not have the head room ? and i for one would rather drive round in a KIA than a RR Sport !
The new DEFENDER is going to be the one to watch, it has been a true class less vehicle, every one drives them regardless of title, sure the brand new ones are getting nearer £30K but theres not much between that and a £5K - £10K 300TDi !
Infact as i have owned both i can say that the older 300TDi is a better vehicle !
Any way i digress
The DC100 will be made and the current DEFENDER will be made for at least a further 3 Years ? i have heard 5 ?
At least that will keep all the purists happy over on the Defner2 Forum !
I had a 200TDi Defner on a K plate, back then you couldnt buy a station wagon they were all hard tops ! the emphasis was in getting you in a Disco ! which i refused to do !
Again in 08 i was hounded by the salesman to get a GS D3 for less than i was paying for a 90 XS TDCi
Some people never learn !
I do hope that the Disco remains ! as this is again a class less vehicle, sure you have to have a bob or two to own one from new but i know some of the wealthiest people that buy a Disco because it is such a good car, lets be honest the D4 HSE is almost FFRR territory but without the Fat Cat image !
And the base D3 in its day was a better car than the P38 could have ever hoped to be,

Well, if there isn't to be a D5 and LR don't replace with a car that fits this niche and leave a bigger gap between Range Rover and Land Rover models, then I'm pretty sure I will be lining up for one of the last D4 HSEs off the line.
Thinking about it, it might even be worth buying two and selling one back to the dealer at a premium when demand exceeds supply at around that time...

I have seen prototypes of the next model Landrover vehicles (That may or may not make the cut) and it appeared there was still a model for each category. RR Vogue, RR Sport, Disco 5, FL 3 and also a defender.
The disco 5 seemed to have a similar front end and lights to the evoque styling and was a bit curvier. I thought it looked really good.
The real standout car was the one that looked like the next model RR Sport. It looked very angry and tuff.
The least impressive was the one that looked more like the FL 3 that was similar to the look of a Pathfinder. Yukk
I dont have pictures and exact details but was very excited to see the prototypes.Disco 4 SE

From what i remember there were 7 seats in the vogue and i think sport.
But you have to remember that what i was shown may be very much still in the designs stage and could change a bit within the next 2 -3 years.
I saw them all at a Landrover Focus Group night. They didn't say we couldn't speak about them.
They did talk about whether people would be interested in an option of a V8 diesel..... Hmmmm that would be nice. Disco 4 SE
