OK, well the rest of the story goes something like this - they said they have one plate left over, in stock after the group buy. Acknowledged I would like it at the same price. Then the price changed about 4-5 times in a five minute telephone conversation. They even agreed to it being the same price at one point, Iwas getting in the car to go and fetch it, when they then added the VAT back on to the offer price and insisted it was the same price you lot paid. 4rse and elbow come to mind.
Not so concerned over the final price more the inconsistency and way in which I was treated.

Now your just being silly. I do get a great discount though as my brother works at a dealers ! 16% IIRC "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

You kept that quiet! I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I have to be very fair to Mantec here as I have now spoken at length with them. You must realise that they are not a 'shop' and, as a business to business concern, they do not include VAT when discussing their prices. When they offered you the last plate, the price was £229(+vat). As a courtesy, they (by exception) offered a little discount which might have 'appeared' to bring the plate down to the group-buy price. However, the group buy price included VAT and the offer made to you did not.
I am only posting this in open forum as Mantec have asked me to redress the balance here. They have been very good to disco3.co.uk members in allowing me an exceptional discount to run two group buys. I'd prefer not to see this good-will negated by posting this sort of negative comment above - but I don't run disco3.co.uk
Moral of the story - Group buys can mean significant savings - get them while they are hot!!!
I might consider running a 3rd group buy if we could get another 25 people - but there is no benefit to me in doing so and it's a hell of a lot of work.

JMC - I realise the price was good and I wanted a piece of the cake as it were - unfortunately like all those who missed out on the first one and got onto the second group buy - I was too late. New car and all that.
Well done on the price. But my comment still stands. I was given three different prices within 10 Minutes and I had to work out the discount level, as they had mis-calculated by 7 or 8%.
Apologies if I have got you in any bother. just put me down as a grumpy old git "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

I'll let you look at mine tomorrow spotter..... from a distance. And only once you've been frisked to make sure you haven't got a socket set on you. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
