No Not yet. There are plug and play rear lights that have the resistor in now.

Maybe it's just a stock picture but the one shown is 33 ohms 10W, anything above about 10 ohms won't work.
There's no secure fixing for them either.

I used 8.2 ohm 25w ones from Farnell for mine.

I have always been under the impression that the D3's flasher noise is synthesised and that there is no flasher unit as such. However, I may be wrong!

You are correct - no flasher and no chime so to speak.

Unfortunately you are correct.

There is no conventional cheap replaceable flasher, and as such, the bing noise is generated via some behind the instrument display speaker. When you do not hear any noise, time to get your wallet.

The "flasher" per say is a part of the Central Junction Box and hence is as you have heard before, "not user serviceable".
