Potentially very serious problem this morning
Wife took the D3 to work as normal, after about 1.5 miles she went to pull out onto the A607 a very busy road in the mornings.
Car pulled away a bit and then totally cut out, no lights at all on the dash, no messages.
One car had to swerve to avoid her.
She was obviously very scared but remembered to turn right off and re start.
All has been OK for the following 16 miles.
It scared the life out of her, any ideas???
Will be taking it to the dealers in the morning and will tell them I don't want it back until sorted.
This is the second thing with a D3 that she has had, our previous one lost all throttle response as she came off the drive and now this.
She seriously is shaken up and wants me to look at alternative cars.

Sympathies - same thing happened to me a few years ago in a Jag XJSV12, outside lane passing something at speed on a busy motorway at night. Somehow found the hard shoulder without incident though. But scary. Turned out to be the HV coil.

yep same thing happened to me 6 months back.oncoming driver missed
me by inches what the hell,who cares anyway

yep they reloaded the software not happened since,has yours been enhanced yet becuase if it has then this should not of happened what the hell,who cares anyway

must be a corrupt file in the software, happens.they need to reload thats another 3 hours of your time what the hell,who cares anyway

I've seen a few posts referring to an 'enhancement'. Presumably not the ones that will impress the wife  ...
What is it and how do I know if my (pre-owned)disco3 has it?

I bought a November 2005 D3 S today from Aberdeen's main dealer (Town & County) & they are prepping it ready for collection this weekend. I presume it should therefore have all the latest software enhancements when I take delivery? Short of asking, how would I know?

Cliff I think your D3 wants to be exchanged for a RRS after spending the previous day in such refined company. Seriously hope the wife is ok. Loving the power of the TDV8!
