Hang on a mo. Don't they DIP paint this things now rather than SPRAY.
Also on most spray production lines then go down one line, one behind the other. I don't think they run tandem spray lines, so that's blo dy cra py spraying as it would have to turn 180 degress round from the front of the car behind to the back of yours. If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

If it's overspray it will not have come like that from the factory, more likely that the dealer has been repairing the paintwork on another vehicle and they didnt mask off any other vehicles that were nearby

Seems too much like co-incidence that the 'overspray' is the same colour as yours and has manged to get behind a panel
Time to raise the stakes a bit I think as someone is pulling your plonker 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

you are right the spray was also inside on the black plastic trim where the lower tailgate release is, got a meeting with them tomorrow worst of it is that the plonkers who done the williams ceramic paint treatment have ceramic coated the overspray
at the end of the day someone's telling porkies
the body shop is on a different site
Going to collect tomorrow and take it too an independant for assesment then may just put it through the show room window see if they can match that

been through today to the independant body works looks like the lip of the upper tailgate section has been repaired.
I have started the rejection process with the dealer they are going to progress but are still going to bring the landrover engineer up to look at the car.
Had a bit of a look around the showroom and guess what the disco 4 that came in with mine has white paint specs on the window rubbers and it is in buckingham blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dealer assures me that my car has not been repired by them.

Sounds more and more like a transport accident and a quick repair whilst on the way to dealers and on the back of a lorry. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

They MUST know which transporters deliver their cars AND if the spraying was as crappy as it seems and done on-the-back-of-a-lorry there is BOUND to be some WHITE overspray on the transporter as well - And there's your proof - screw em with the forensics I say If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

Not really sure I would reject the vehicle for this, yes I would want it putting right, all traces of overspray removed and then some decent compensation.

Hi
Get someone with a professional paint micron tester and you will know whats been resprayed as it will be thicker in these areas it has to be an electronic one mind as you cant do it with the magnetic types as your car is aluminium
