Colour coding, car kit and DVD player
I have just added some pictures in gallery. Following are some descriptions for them.
I wanted the body side moldings as the doors looked very plain without ones. However I did not liked the black ones so I painted them to match the body colour. Unfortunately they are now installed 5cm too high.
I did not want to add the factory bluetooth phone kit option as I see it would have no added value over this one. It is a Nokia 616 car kit. It acts as a normal bluetooth kit, but it shows the caller on the display. You can use it as hand free or with the optional hand set. You can even install a separate SIM card in it and it acts as a built in phone.
This is a very fine and good quality phone base from Kuda.
Kids wanted a DVD system as we had one in our previous people carrier.
This one is a no-name 10.2" all-in-one system. I routed the audio into the center console and wired it through a switch so that you can select between DVD and the 3.5mm input. I painted the cover to match the other plastics in the roof.
There are also other pictures in my gallery. Go and see.

Side protectors certainly make the car look different. Why are they too high?

arsi,
Nice pics, is the paint 'deformable' or will it crack if the strips come into contact?
If it's deformable, would be good to know what it is
Cheers,

The side strips look about the same height as mine, though from the pic it is difficult to tell. They work a treat.
As for 10's q, given the marks that have appeared on mine, I wouldn't paint them..............the plastic is quite solid.

About the paint on the side moldings. It is same paint that is used for the front and rear bumbers. I do not have other info on that. When I received my car it had a scratch on front bumber and it was repainted for free. I asked the dealer to paint the strips at the same time. So I guess that it can take some force without cracking. The strips were installed by the dealer without asking my opinion and they put them 5cm higher than I wanted but it is okay for me now.
The wooden bits are not stick on as the LR optional wooden kit is. I have seen it and it looks awful as they are taped over the actual panel pieces. The kit that I have is molded on genuine LR panels and have more solid look. The colour is same as the LR parts but the finish is a better. Apsis that makes them also makes ones for Range Rovers. They make also wooden steering wheels, shift knobs and other parts (also stainless exterior parts). Following is a link to their offerings: http://www.apsisusa.com/03%20Range%20Rover...20Page.htm
