Axle display
Hello all,
Well as you may have read elsewhere, I've just obtained a MY07 D3 - and I'm very pleased with it.
This weekend we had the opportunity to take it to a Derbyshire farm house which involved accessing said farmhouse down a farm track - great!
Engaging all the knobs and functions (low range, mud ruts, etc) - off we set.
All good fun.
Periodically a display popped up in the LCD in the console behind the steering wheel showing an axle with two wheels.
I was curious what this display was supposed to represent and tell me?
Many thanks,
Richard.

From memory it shows what position your wheels are facing when offroading.

It simply shows the approximate steering angle....it's often easy to forget which way your wheels are pointing when maneuvering in mud 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Hi Richard,
This shows up when you're in low range and shows you the steering angle of the front wheels

Hi All,
That's great - I thought it might be something like that, but thought I'd better check in case I was missing something.
Thanks, as ever, for the swift replies.
So, I take it that its usual to hear all manner of "noises" when in HDC crawling down a slope? Never used it before - it all seemed to work fine, but was grinding away.
Thanks again,
Richard.

Noisy as heck in a D3 but the D4 I drove at the LR Experience was so much quieter. Same feeling through the pedals but in comparison to the HDC in the D3 it didn't sound like something expensive was just about to let go. Didn't seem to have to push the brakes so hard in low ratio either!Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Well I should hope something in the D4 was better

Argh! so that's what it is, I had it flash up on my screen and wondered what it was, mind I think the 4x4 info on the centre screen is better Cheers Ian
