egr noise?

hi can anyone help ive got a 2005 disco 3 hse 70k, i know both the egr,s have gone and haveing them blanked in the nxt 2 weeks , but today i had a sudden beep come up for about 2 secs then i could hear i slight noise coming from the engine like a alomost wooshing noise? is this due to the egrs getting stuck do you think?
