Looking for camp site in France |
|
As title says looking for site about 500 miles south in France. Site must have swiming pool and fishing lake and be family friendly. Would prefer somthing not to big with about 150 pitches. Pitches must be fairly big to cater for large twin axle and awning, can anyone recomend anything for next year. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Have you tried Le Ty Nadan? Great spot, down south near Lorient. Tons of activities for the kids. Rivers but no lakes though. Spent a week there last year. Loved it

Not as far as 500 miles but, we've used Camping Logis Du Brueil (near Royan) and it was a good site with large piches, brill time, nice beaches, good weather. What more could you need

Vendee regeion is best for weather. About 450 miles from Calais or get the ferry from Portsmouth to Caen and it's even closer.
For the past 3 years we have been to Camping Pong in Landevielle after it was recommended to us.
Just returned after 3 weeks. Site has good size pitches is good for the kids, ours are 3&7, small fishing pond on site, 3 pools, and most people seem to return year after year.
We find it a nice friendly site which is not like some of the massive sites you see. The kids are free to roam around without you having to watch them every minute.
Check out the site with the caravan club as they seem to offer better prices than booking direct.
Hope this helps

had a looksee here a couple of days ago...vast place, looks like a nice base for next year.
not sure what's in the lake but might have a dabble tomorrow.
couldn't quite understand if you have to pay to fish if you're booked in but if you're not it's about £13 a rod for the day. Lake is around 25 acres.
Having a mooch round for some more fishing places round Sincondigny later Welcome "Lola"

Stayed at "Camping La Plage" at Verdun sur le Doubs this year. Riverside site at the junction of two rivers. I'm not a fisherman but there was plenty going on at the riverbank.
Very smart municipal swimming pool next door to the site.
Close to Beaune and Chalon sur Saone.

Hi Russell, you might to look at Les Pouyades. A series of Gite's built for fishing right on the lake. The site is in central Limousin making it reachable in a day from Calais. The nearest town is Magnac Laval.
I have stayed there, the Gite's are clean and well maintained.

Hi,
We've been here a few times and going again this year, twin axle isn't a problem.
There's a river which runs alongside the site you can fish in.

Cheers,
