The fuel burning heater that you can program using the radio trick, so you have a nice warm car to get into on frosty mornings, oh that's gone too. More nostalgia

Best thing: just how good and special it makes you feel everytime you get in it, the car that is. Ooo Errr Matron

Worst thing: only one touch close on drivers electric window, not the others. Piddlin thing I know but the last three £30K+ cars have had it, can't really see why they left it off.

I think this has been addressed on the 07 model. Bit much to change the 4 month old car just for this..... I wonder it the 07 switches are backward compatible with the 06 model? Me thinks I would pay to sort it out if poss. How might I find out?

Definitely the permagrin! Very Happy Whenever I think of it, see it or drive it, I can't just help it, I start grinning. People must think I am very stupid. And they are probably right Shocked

But most of the time I am sitting too high above them to notice anyway... 8)

The best bit about the D3 is that it was the big sister to the RRS! Very Happy

After 5 previous Discos, I had always looked on passing RR's, ML's, X5's etc with an attitude of a poor relation Embarassed I knew that my car could cut it with the best of them when the going got rough - but I certainly couldn't keep up on the road.

However......

Whether it is a bit sad or not, my D3 makes me feel good, and nothing gives me an inferiority complex now. I even look down on Bentleys and wouldn't want a FFRR if someone else was paying. Shocked

240BHP and 30mpg+ from a Turbochip makes the package almost orgasmic Razz

The saddest part of all (as a motorcyclist) is that I have a sticker on my rear window stating that I'd rather be riding my bike...... Even that's not true Shocked

What's wrong with the D3?.......... Love is blind and I can't see Very Happy

United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 5 Seat Manual Arctic FrostDiscovery 3

I think the best thing on my D3 is the Powered Range change - just fantastic when pulling a heavy trailer! Compared to the other vehicles I've had where you always got a nasty grind or clunk when going from low to high on the move, the sound of the beep and "High Range selected" message gives a real air of efficiency!!

Xenons
(Yes, it's an odd spec - but I like it!)
